Today I offer my list of the “Top 10″ “Top 6″ Fairhope special events. These events contribute significantly to Fairhope’s quality of life and involve many local residents and visitors. If you are planning a trip to visit Fairhope, pick a time that allows you to attend one of these great events!

#1. Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival
The 56th annual Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival will take place Friday, March 14, 2008 - Sunday, March 16, 2008.
#2. Fairhope First Friday Art Walks
On the First Friday of each month downtown Fairhope art galleries, shops and restaurants welcome visitors who stroll about town, meeting friends and listening to live music.
#3. Fairhope Mardi Gras Parades
Each year downtown Fairhope hosts three magical Mardi Gras parades. The first parade of 2008 is KOER (Knights of Ecor Rouge) on Saturday, January 26, 2008. Next is MOJ (Maids of Jubilee) February 1, and finally OOMM (Order of Mystic Magnolias) on Monday (Lundi Gras) February 4. Mardi Gras in North America is said to have originated in Mobile, Alabama.
#4. Alabama Coastal Birdfest
Each year in October the city of Fairhope is host to the Alabama Coastal Birdfest.
#5. South Writers Reading
Southern Writers Reading is a two-day events that takes place on the weekend before Thanksgiving and features great southern writers reading from their published works.
#6. Grand Festival of Art
October is always a good time for hosting the Grand Festival of Art, which takes place at the Fairhope Public Pier and Beach area.
